Why are our new build homes at Thorpe Thewles a great option?

The small and welcoming village of Thorpe Thewles is the location of Thorpe Paddocks, our development of 31 stunning new build homes. Filled with tranquillity and amazing views, this rural location exudes relaxation.

Giving you the option to explore the wildlife, enjoy the local pubs and spend quality time in this perfect place to call home, we love our new build homes at Thorpe Thewles - but why should you?

They’re in a fantastic location for Sunday lunch or a quick drink

Our Thorpe Paddocks site is located on the edge of this wonderful village, with many useful amenities within walking distance from our homes. For example, two of the local restaurants - The Vane Arms and The Hamilton Russell Arms - are found in the heart of Thorpe Thewles and only a short stride away from Thorpe Paddocks.

Looking at The Vane Arms, they offer the best local produce and freshest ingredients right on the doorstep of Thorpe Paddocks. Specialising in traditional Italian starters (Beef Carpaccio, an Italian Mezze Board and The Vane Arms Italian Platter), classic English gastropub main courses and indulgent Sunday lunches, you can enjoy this beautifully crafted menu filled with delicious, local food. A children’s menu is also available along with a decadent dessert menu, making The Vane Arms a truly family friendly destination.

Moving on to The Hamilton Russell, it’s a perfect combination of traditional dining and modern twists at this beautiful country pub and restaurant. Enjoy the cosy beer garden on a summer evening or tuck into a lunchtime meal in this truly relaxing environment. Alongside many choices on the classic menu, vegan and vegetarian menus are available offering delicious dishes for all.

You’ve got easy access to numerous local towns

Despite being in the countryside and surrounded by open fields, the towns of Billingham and Stockton-on-Tees are only a ten minute drive away from Thorpe Thewles. These convenient, nearby towns are ideal, but if you want to venture slightly further afield, you have the options of Darlington, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool. These larger towns provide almost anything you could need, all within an approximate 20 minute drive.

Countryside and coast are both on your doorstep

One of our favourite points about Thorpe Thewles is you have countryside on your doorstep, but you’re also within close proximity to the coast. Many seaside towns are only half an hour away, including Saltburn, Marske Sands, Seaton Carew and Hartlepool. Take in the fresh air and enjoy a long walk along the sandy beaches or have a bite to eat in a local cafe overlooking the sea.

Living in Thorpe Thewles you have true flexibility. From the calmness of the countryside to the bustle of the town to the beautiful coast, you can switch between any setting you like when living in this marvellous village.

The transport links and routes are first-class

Efficient transport links are a necessity and Thorpe Thewles provides different bus routes, road links and access to train stations.

Four bus stops are situated in the village, and two more just outside, with the bus route stretching from Middlesbrough right up to Peterlee. Some of the stops include Sedgefield, Stockton-on-Tees and the nearby location of Thorpe Larches. Neighbouring villages such as Redmarshall and Carlton also offer alternative bus routes.

Access to the A19 and A1(M) is provided on the outskirts of Thorpe Thewles and these practical links are perfect for commuting or travelling efficiently outside of the local area.

You can appreciate quiet village life

Enjoyable and relaxing, living in the village of Thorpe Thewles is the perfect way to unwind. Exciting family life here is easy to maintain, with plenty of village walks to explore, pub lunches, nearby schools, colleges and nurseries - and most of all, the ability to spend quality time together in a stunning, welcoming village.

Wynyard Woodland Park is less than a mile away and takes around 20 minutes to walk to, and is the perfect place to adventure! Various other destinations such as Hardwick Park and Preston Park are nearby, making great destinations for walks and year-round family fun.
